The internet is kind of a crazy place.  Say you create a twitter account and then prompty forget about it. You’re going through your very old email address and see that people have been following this twitter account that you never use, and you feel kind of bad for misleaded the masses. So you delete it. No big deal. Except that within a week of the deletion you get an email saying “Thanks for reactivating your twitter account!” (which you most certainly did not do because what’s the point?) and that starts your mind wondering what happened.

OR. Or maybe you log on to your trusty blog that you’ve had for three years, only to find out the email address has been changed to the very old email address (which it had not been previously, as you have been getting the comments at your usual email address for, well, ever). You take change the email address back to the regular one, take the appropriate steps to ensure that it doesn’t happen again, and sleep soundly. Only it does happen again. And again.

So.

I don’t know if I have a really nice hacker who just jacks with email addresses and passwords and nothing else or if it’s my own fault somehow (entirely probable, but I cannot wrap my head around the logistics of it), but now I’m here. At this brand new blog. At this brand new and completely empty blog. It’s a little daunting. Perhaps I can import my old entries or something. That would be nice. Would also require some work.

“Why? Why are you creating another blog when you didn’t update the one you HAD?”

I don’t have a simple answer for you. Maybe I do. Maybe the answer is “Because I want to and it’s free so why the hell not?” But really  it had to do with security. Or lackthereof. The password here is not the same as it was for my old twitter and old email address (note to hacker: this is not an invitation), so I feel a little more assured knowing that I can write something and it will not be deleted, or I’ll be unable to read comments, or someone will show up to my house in the dead of night and scrawl the old password into my headboard (which never happened as I don’t even have a headboard).

I tried to import older entries from the other blog into this one and for some reason I cannot do it. I have the file on my desktop of everything all CSSified, and I hit “import” and WordPress is telling me that the entries are indeed imported but where the hell are they and why cannot find them? Is it really that important? Did I actually read them, anyway? No. So probably I will just give up and not worry about it anymore.

So. Now you know.

So you’re telling me that my spare time (which is and will be a very large amount of time until August) cannot be filled with me reading all your entries I never read? What will I do with all this extra time??????????????
